7th son

7th Son are an exciting four piece live act from Birmingham in the West Midlands. Covering classic artists from the last five decades, the band have earned a reputation as one of the best live covers acts on the Birmingham scene.

​Featuring a line up of Lead Vox and Guitar, Lead Guitar and Backing Vox, Bass Guitar and Backing Vox, and Drums the band also uses synth effects and live looping to add in additional instrumentation on some songs.

​Equally adept at handling private functions, weddings, or night clubs and pubs , 7th Son are able to provide a great evening’s entertainment that caters to a wide variety of tastes.

​The band are equipped with full back line, drums and their own powered PA system with 2 x 12 inch RCF heads, 1 x 12 inch RCF sub woofer. and 16 channel Yamaha mixing desk. They also have full stage lighting and can provide incidental music or full disco if required. They are members of the Musician’s Union and are fully covered by their Public Liability insurance.

​The band were formed in 1997 by singer and guitarist Adam Banks and bassist Stevie Barr. They were joined later by drummer Simon Cartwright and guitarist Matt Burton to complete the current line up. Initially the band focused on writing and performing original songs with a mod and indie feel. Alas, fame and fortune were not forthcoming and as careers and families took off, the band focused more on performing live covers to a wider audience.

​Initially the band operated a strict policy of playing songs only from the sixties and seventies concentrating on mod and northern soul from artists such as the Small Faces, The Who and The Kinks. The band had always rehearsed a huge variety of songs ranging from Indie, Rock n Roll, Rock,  Blues and Country music artists. It was therefore a natural progression when they started including these songs in the sets to appeal to a wider audience.

​These days, the band has established a reputation for playing great covers in an exciting live set whilst always trying to avoid just churning out the old pub rock classics played by so many other bands. The band understand the importance of the audience and with years of experience, can alter the set lists to suit the crowd.

​We are 7th Son, classic covers played with edge and attitude.
