His biggest thrill was to share the stage as a support act to the great TONY CHRISTIE at the Dartford Big Day Out Festival to a crowd of 3000 in June 2022.
Ian has performed his show all over the world, in Greece, Dubai, Bahrain, Spain annually, and the Caribbean and Mediterranean on cruise ships. He has starred in the official Granada TV’s “Stars In Their Eyes – Live” UK Theatre Tour to audiences of 3000+ every night and has been a regular headline act on board P & O’s Ocean Village Cruise Ship. After 20 years of performing the Tom Jones tribute show he has built a great reputation as an amazing vocalist. The vocal power and styling, the look, the moves and the mannerisms of Tom Jones are all displayed with uncanny accuracy. Ian has the ability to adapt to the smallest parties and clubs and also to large corporate functions, weddings and stadiums (Ian appeared at Hull Kingston Rovers on the pitch singing ‘Delilah’ to a 15,000 crowd).He recreates all the passion and power of a Tom Jones concert interacting and chatting with the audience and even involving some of them on “What’s New Pussycat?” They love it and they always want more!
He had the privilege of recording a demo song for Tom Jones himself written by hit songwriter Johnny Caesar who wrote “Come Home Rhondda Boy” for Tom in the 80’s. Johnny chose Ian because of his vocal ability and accurate styling and phrasing. Back in 2004 Ian performed a few songs in front of Tom’s fans before “The Party In The Park – Route of Kings” ( Tom’s show in Hyde Park London ), where he was sponsored by Smart Cars. He then appeared at the Dilmun club in Saudi Arabia where they wouldn’t let him off the stage and he performed 40 minutes of extra encores!! He has since performed the magnificent Shangri-La Hotel in DUBAI to the Welsh Ex-Pats. Society.
Ian is the first choice fly-back artiste from the UK for the Costa-del-Sol, Corfu, the Algarve and Gibraltar(see video) and appears in Spain every year. He tours the UK in all the major hotel groups and is ideal for clubs, golf clubs, private and corporate events, weddings, universities, parties, theatres, festivals, restaurants, nightclubs and cabaret venues. He is a tribute act you must not miss! Ian always gets a great reaction wherever he goes.
Ian has a chance to show his musicianship as Neil, playing some cracking guitar rhythm’s on “CHERRY CHERRY” “BEAUTIFUL NOISE” “I AM I SAID” and “SWEET CAROLINE”. He wears the costume and look from the “JAZZ SINGER” which was Neil Diamond at his peak.He has recently performed his Neil Diamond Tribute Show with Stand Up Comedian RUSSELL KANE for AVALON TV PRODUCTIONS on BBC RADIO 2 at the GRAND THEATRE in Blackpool. Ian sang SWEET CAROLINE as the grand finale to the show, “RUSSELL KANE’S SUMMER TOUR SHOW”. He was invited a few years ago, by BBC Radio Hereford & Worcester presenter Howard Bentham, to celebrate Neil Diamond’s 70th Birthday and talk about his tribute show and sing a few of his songs ‘live’ on air. Ian ended up doing an hour stint because it was going so well, with the whole crew in the studio singing along to “Sweet Caroline” at the end!
When Ian performs his Neil Diamond Tribute the audience are totally captivated and involved in the performance as the tempo goes up and down and the mood changes from romantic ballads to storming classics like “I’m A Believer” and “Cracklin’ Rosie “. He has taken his tribute to Neil Diamond to the Highlands of Scotland, the DILMUN CLUB in Bahrain, the SHANGRI-LA HOTEL in Dubai, the The PARADISE CLUB in Tenerife, the CASTAWAY NIGHTCLUB in Corfu, Hotels in Jersey, the LEGENDS CLUB in Costa-del-Sol, Spain, the SAVANNAH LOUNGE/BAR in Gibraltar and also in Antigua in a 16 day stay. Ian also thrills audiences all around the UK with his superb tribute to Neil Diamond.
Neil Diamond is one of the worlds greatest and enduring singer/songwriters. Ian is a songwriter himself and understands how well Diamond has crafted his songs and how they “fit like a glove” when you sing them.
